August Interlude

August 13, 2013

Not much sewing happening here. I was away last week, and busy catching up this week. Still, a few things arrived in my absence which I will share.

These cuties are Minis from Timeless Treasures. From the top – Elephants, Turtles, Foxes, Birds and Owls. Fun in a quilt, but also perfect for small projects. Pencil case, pouch, lunch bag, bib … or maybe some quick change trousers from Anna Marie Horner’s Handmade Beginnings book. I first saw them here, but you’ll see lots of them in the book’s flickr pool.

Briar Rose by Heather Ross arrived just before I left for vacation. These adorable prints are also perfect for those small projects … or maybe a little girl’s twirly skirt (tutorial at Sew 4 Home).

I tackled my reading list while I was at camp last week, and managed to finish 3 books – Northanger Abbey, Tragedy of Arthur and Cutting For Stone. Thanks to everyone who left a comment in the giveaway. There were 30 guesses, but only 2 were correct. The Coroner’s Lunch was a popular guess (that was Tom’s read, highly recommended by him) as was Cutting For Stone (recommended by my mom, and a very good read). The correct answer was Tragedy of Arthur, which I thoroughly enjoyed. (Full disclosure – I did not read the play at the end of the book. The so-called “introduction” is the actual story, and I did finish that.)

Anyway, on to the winner. 30 comments, and the 2 correct guesses got an extra chance. The random number generator came up with 32, so the winner is Carla (who did have a correct guess). I’ve also decided to send a prize to the other correct guess, which is Steph. You’ll both be getting an email shortly.
