We’re getting close to the end of this project, and this month I’ve got instructions for 2 (relatively) easy pieced elements.
These are the 2 horizontal elements at the bottom right of Cathy’s sample quilt — the top is a Rail Fence, the bottom is called Spring Fling.
My versions of the blocks — both modified. For the Rail Fence I used squares instead of piecing strips into squares; for the Spring Fling I eliminated the quarter square triangles and made a Shoo Fly block separated with sashing. My palette is a bit more limited than Cathy’s and I’m finding I wan to modify the blocks a bit to suit my choice of fabric. Download the instructions for the Rail Fence and the Spring Fling blocks to make your own, and don’t forget to post some photos to the Flickr group if you’re following along.
