Join us in the studio to make a fused appliqué collage quilt. Start with your choice of Laura Heine's wonderful collage patterns, and Jane will show you how to use pattern, scale, colour and value to create your appliqué. The class is offered over 3 sessions, with homework assigned between sessions.

Laura Heine collage pattern of choice (for first class)
A variety of fabrics with cuttable motif patterns - such as flowers, paisley, leaves strips etc. The fabrics should reflect a chosen color theme, contain different values (light to darks) and different scale motifs (small, medium and large). This will be discussed further in the first session (bring your fabrics to class if you have them to discuss their suitability)
Lightweight interfacing such as Pattern Easy for creating the pattern
Lightweight fusing material such as Steam- A-Seam 2 Lite
Sharp small scissors (6" Perfect Scissors recommended)
Appliqué pressing sheet (optional)
Sharpie pen, glue stick such as RoxAnne Glue-Baste-It or a non staining glue stick
Thread color-coordinated to the collaged appliqué
About the instructor —Jane started quilting upon retirement from the Federal government in 2006. As she was a sewer, it was a natural transitional for her to move towards quilting. She soon discovered that traditional quilting was not for her. She, then turned to art quilts and has not looked back.
