About the instructor — Jan has sewn for many years and loves to play with fabric. Her mother was her first teacher, encouraging her in early efforts. Jan further developed her skills through home economics classes in elementary and high school. Although her sewing was originally focused on garment-making and home decorating, she discovered the joys of quilting (and fabric collecting!) about 15 years ago. After retiring from teaching in 2015, she joined the staff at Mad About Patchwork and enjoys spending her time sharing ideas with other creative people.
