About the retreat
Log Cabin Weekend is a virtual sewing retreat. You sew at home on Saturday and Sunday, January 16 and 17, 2027, and join live Zoom sessions for demos, tips and company. Your box is mailed ahead of time, with a playlist, cocoa, a mug and everything you need to start. A dashboard helps you follow along, and you can log in at different times for the demos.
The weekend covers strip sewing tips and an accurate 1/4 in seam, the variety of quilts made with log cabin blocks, a miniature log cabin, a log cabin cup cozy, kinusaiga, and a talk with Catherine-Marie Longtin, author of Log Cabin Quilt Blocks.

Meet Catherine-Marie Longtin
Catherine-Marie Longtin is a Montreal-born French Canadian quilt-maker and textile artist now based in London. She learned to sew from her mother, then left a career in academia (a PhD in cognitive science) to return to her love of textiles and colour. Since 2016 she has had a studio in Camberwell, South East London, where she takes commissions, sells quilts and artworks, and teaches patchwork classes online and in person. Her work is inspired by artists such as Josef and Anni Albers, Mark Rothko, Agnes Martin, Nicolas de Staël and Paul Klee.
Join our Sunday author chat about her book, Log Cabin Quilt Blocks: 100 Colour and Pattern Variations (Batsford), which is available as an add-on.
