What a summer. Hundreds of you picked up a needle, basted a first hexie, and kept going right through July and August — and we have loved every photo, every question, and every flower along the way.
Thank you for taking part, for trying something new, and for spending your summer stitching alongside us. However far you got, you counted. We're already looking forward to sewing together again next year.

This summer 800+ of us stitched a stunning Hexie Flower Ring together using 1" hexagons — 18 single flowers + 5 double flowers arranged in a beautiful circle. No two are the same.
7 × 1" hexies each — one centre surrounded by 6 petals.
13 × 1" hexies each — a flower within a flower.
All 1" size. Worked one at a time, slow and sweet. Fits on a 1 × 1.5 yard background.

Not at all! 1" hexie flowers are perfect for beginners and relaxing for seasoned stitchers. We share simple guidance along the way.
Joining the Sew Along is completely free. Kits and add-ons are optional if you'd like your supplies ready to go.
This is slow stitching — go at your own pace. The dates were gentle guideposts, not deadlines. All seven patterns are above, and your free codes work until 1 October.
Fabric for your flowers: At least 6 different colours for petals and centres. A Layer Cake (10" squares) or a 2.5" strip set / Jelly Roll works beautifully.
Background fabric: 1.5 yards of a single background fabric. Your finished 1" Hexie Flower Ring will be appliquéd onto this.
1" hexie papers: Approximately 200–225 papers for the full small ring. We recommend the 400-pack recycled 1" hexie papers so you have plenty to practise with too.
Tools: A needle (Milliners/Straw size 9/10 is ideal), thread, small scissors or snips, and a 1" fussy-cut acrylic template. All included in our optional Starter Kit.
Optional: Thread gloss, 80wt thread, a lap app for stitching anywhere, and green fabric for the Jewel Leaf add-on template.
