Mad About Patchwork is proudly Canadian-owned and operated, right here in Stittsville, Ontario. When you order from us, there are no surprise customs fees, no border delays, no exchange rate headaches. Your fabric ships from Canada, arrives in Canada, and your money supports a small Canadian business that genuinely loves what it does.
No unexpected duties waiting for you at the door. Just fabric. Fast.
Our team doesn't just sell fabric — we use it. We quilt. We sew. We pre-wash, we piece, we finish projects (and yes, we have a pile of UFOs too — we're only human).
What that means for you is that when you call or email with a question — "will this print work with a Kona neutral?" or "how much yardage do I need for a queen-size backing?" — you get a real answer from someone who has actually been there. Not a script. Not a guess. Actual quilter-to-quilter advice.
There is nothing worse than falling in love with a fabric online, adding it to your cart, and then getting an email three days later saying it's backordered. We hear this story from new customers regularly.
At MAP, we work hard to keep our most popular fabrics, threads, notions, and precuts genuinely in stock and ready to ship. Our selection includes hundreds of Kona Cotton colours, current collections from Ruby Star Society, Tula Pink, Alison Glass, Moda, Art Gallery, and more — plus threads, zippers, patterns, and the tools you actually need.
If something is marked "Coming Soon" or "Pre-Order," we tell you upfront. No surprises.
Here's something we feel strongly about: we ship everything expedited and tracked. No exceptions.
We know some shops offer letter mail as a cheaper option. We don't, and here's why: letter mail cannot be tracked or confirmed as delivered. If something goes missing — and occasionally, things do go missing in the postal system — there is nothing we or Canada Post can do about it. You're out your fabric. We're out the sale. Nobody wins.
As a small business, we can't absorb the risk of untracked shipments, and more importantly, we don't want you to absorb that risk either. Your order matters to us. So we ship it in a way we can actually stand behind.
The upside? When you add a little more to your cart and hit our free shipping threshold, you're getting fast, tracked, expedited delivery — at no extra cost to you. So if you were on the fence about that extra half yard of Kona Ash or that spool of Aurifil 50wt you keep running out of — this is your sign. Add it to the cart.
We have a beautiful physical shop in Stittsville, Ontario where you can touch the fabric, hold it up to the light, and see the colours in person before you commit. Our store hours are listed on the website, and we love seeing familiar faces (and meeting new ones).
But we also know that many of our customers are across Canada — in BC, Alberta, Nova Scotia, and everywhere in between. So our online store is stocked just as thoughtfully as our physical shelves, with detailed product descriptions, accurate photos, and the same level of care in every order we pack and ship.
Whether you're popping in on a Saturday morning or shopping at midnight in your pyjamas (no judgment — we've done it too), we're here for you.
Choosing where to spend your fabric budget is a real decision, and we don't take it lightly. At Mad About Patchwork, you get:
We're not the biggest fabric store in the world. We're just really good at what we do, and we genuinely love helping quilters find exactly what they need.
Come find us online at madaboutpatchwork.com or stop by our shop in Stittsville. We'd love to help you find your next favourite fabric.
Happy quilting,
The MAP Team 🧵

It's been a while since the last post (November!) Lots going on in the store and on the website which have kept me busy.

December 1 is the day where I really seriously start to think about Christmas. It’s not procrastination, just that I don’t really feel the holiday groove until the calendar shows December.
