Batik is a traditional resist-dyeing technique where wax is applied to fabric before dyeing, creating layered color and beautiful, often slightly “crackled” patterning. Because the dye penetrates deeply, batiks are known for rich color, high detail, and a slightly denser, crisper hand than many standard quilting cottons.

Optional, but recommended if you’re combining with light solids or want to pre-shrink. Batiks can sometimes release excess dye on the first wash.

Fabric can be purchased in 1/4 yard (22.86 cm) increments.

Single units or single 1/4 yard will be sent as a fat quarter (approx. 18'x22" or 45.72 cm x 55.88cm).  If you would like a Skinny Quarter (approx. 9" x 44" or 22.86 cm x 111.76) please indicate that in the comment section of your order.

When you purchase more than one unit it will be cut continuously off the bolt as a continuous piece.
