December 1 is the day where I really seriously start to think about Christmas. It’s not procrastination, just that I don’t really feel the holiday groove until the calendar shows December. It makes for a busy month, but somehow that feels right to me.
And so now is the time to tackle the baking and decorating, the shopping and entertaining. And yes, even some last minute sewing when I can find the time. But distractions abound … like the latest issue of Gen Q magazine which landed in the shop yesterday.
The cover quilt by Scott Hansen is a paper-pieced beauty featuring the beautiful Tinsel collection from Cotton + Steel. We’ve used this collection in a few projects — from quilt to patchwork bench to mini stockings — and we’re still not tired of it.
My sales rep left some swatches with me a while ago, and I’m finally ready to offer them in a giveaway, along with a copy of the Gen Q magazine with the ‘christmas 1964’ pattern.
Just leave a comment telling me what you’re looking forward to this month … and you’ll have a chance to win the Tinsel swatches AND a copy of the magazine. I’ll pick a winner at random later this week. Good luck!
